I decided that for the environment I would do a mix of procedural modelling and sculpting in Unreal to create the base of the landscape. After experimenting with procedural modelling techniques, I found discovered a rough mountainous form that my team and I really enjoyed. It has the sharp ridges that the Napali Coast in Kaui embodies and adds a stylized feel we enjoyed.



With the floor of the landscape I used alphas to create subtle ridges and mounds to give this base a bit more character. I gathered a few free alphas online and experimented with them in Unreal.
